I think that what you wrote was very reasonable. However, consider this, what if you were to create a killer headline? I am not saying your content is not solid, however what if you added a post title to possibly grab folk's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is a little plain. You could look at Yahoo's front page and see how they write article titles to grab people interested. You might add a related video or a related pic or two to get people interested about everything've written. Just my opinion, it would make your posts a little bit more interesting.
